Jorge Mira, a forestry engineer with a passion for sustainability, leads the way at El Jaragual, a 150-hectare family-owned farm nestled in the northern Andes of Antioquia, Colombia. Drawing from his extensive experience in forestry, Jorge has cultivated a harmonious balance between agriculture and conservation, with much of the farm dedicated to native forest preservation and sustainable pine plantations. This thoughtful approach not only nurtures the surrounding ecosystem but also provides an ideal environment for growing exceptional coffee under the shade of native trees.

Under Jorge’s stewardship, El Jaragual has become a hub of innovation and tradition. From cultivating classic varieties like Castillo to experimenting with exotics like Pink Bourbon, Typica Mejorado, Sidra and Gesha, Jorge combines agronomic expertise with precise processing methods, such as extended fermentation, to enhance the coffee’s complexity.
